Hello! Nice to meet you...

We are Monika & Martin! 

Travelers, textile, food lovers and ashtanga practitioners :) 

We love nature and that is one of the reasons why we decided to bring natural materials into yoga world.
Yoga teaches us how to be more conscious about how we are living and what we are surrounded. That also includes the materials we use and how they are made. 

By this project we are supporting local manufacturers, to whom the most credit should be given. We have been lucky enough to meet them, know them  and bring they hard work to you in form of LEELA: GOODIES #yay!...

...and it is not our final destination!

The Story of LEELA... and meaning behind 

In Hinduism, the concept of Leela is explained as divine play – describes the reality and cosmos as play of Brahman, who is foolling around with us and the whole world is just like a stage in theater and we should not take ourselves too seriously – because it's just a play.

We should remember also during our practice of asanas – don’t take ourselves too serious, listen to our body and let things flow.

Leela is built on the concept of unity in diversity.  

Each Leela yoga rug is different in it's colors - but unique in design and properties. On the first sight you can recognize, that they are part of the same ''family''! 

 

Our story...

Leela yoga rugs are originally made in India, in the state Tamil Nadu - one of the biggest cotton producers in India.

 

Our rugs are made of spare cotton looms from bigger projects. Since we want to prevent excessive waste and save the environment - we are using these looms for creating unique and colorful yoga rugs.  Otherwise, those looms have no other significat use since the quantity is not very big. 

 

As we never know what color of looms will be spare, in the production -  therefore the rugs have similar design and characteristics but  we can never make sure how new Leela yoga rugs will look like. It is always a surprise for everyone.

We use this ''disadvantage'' of not being able to control the colors in the advantage of Leela yoga rugs! 

Thanks to that - Each piece is UNIQUE and ORIGINAL
